High Park is one of Toronto’s most beautiful neighbourhoods with towering oaks and maple trees, rolling hills & winding streets. The proximity to High Park, one of the city’s largest organized green spaces and Western waterfront, as well as great schools, quick commute time to downtown – make it desirable for couples, families and singles. Although the park itself stretches from The Queensway to Bloor, the community of High Park does extend north of Bloor St. upwards to Dundas St (south of Junction Gardens neighbourhood) , with Runnymede Rd as it’s boundary to the west, and Roncesvalles Ave. as it’s easterly limit. High Park itself, at nearly 400 acres, boasts several playgrounds, a renovated outdoor pool with splash pad, manicured ornamental gardens as well as natural vegetation, skating, tennis courts, quiet spaces, fishing in Grenadier pond & animal paddock to name a few features.
High park is within walking distance to 3 major shopping areas (from various points in the neighbourhood). Bloor West Village(to the west) – with its European flair offers the shopper a vast section of delis, green grocers ,a wonderful variety of restaurants and cafes , as well as interesting boutique stores. Recently several chains stores , have taken up residence here due to increasing storefront lease costs. Roncesvalles Village(to the east) with its small town feel, offers a slightly different selection of fair trade cafes, green grocers (often featuring organic foods), restaurants and funky storefronts. It also features European food stores and bakeries ,most predominately-with a Polish flair! The Junction to the north, has been an area in transition for a while, but has made great strides in overall development of its own neighbourhood feel an identity recently. Creama Coffee Co., Friendly Thai restaurant, Acme Candy Company & The Sweet Potato (eco-frendly supermarket) all warrant a trip to the Junction!
