This Toronto West community spans both north and south of Bloor St. - easterly to Islington Ave, and westerly to Highway #427 and Mimico Creek- offering an abundance of green space, local services, shopping and convenient access to TTC and GO transit- a wonderful downtown lifestyle alternative.
Islington Village is known as “Toronto’s Village of Murals” offers 25 such murals to enjoy located within its historic shopping district on Dundas West. Islington is quickly becoming one of Toronto West’s more affluent residential locations.
Currently underway (3-5 years) is the $40 million Six Points interchange reconfiguration. When completed it will transform that area into a better mixed use, pedestrian friendly network of streets that support all modes of transportation. The road re configurations and adjusted traffic light positions (no longer to be considered the “spaghetti junction” ) will now showcase Dundas St West - featuring bike lanes, a wide pedestrian boulevard and green plantings - making it more a place to come to- rather than simply driving through the current network of road interchanges.
